Lil' Vintage Story Books #9

Welcome again to Lil' Vintage Story Books, where we share our favorite vintage children's books!

This week I'm featuring "Frosty the Snowman", illustrated by Corinne Malvern, and published in 1950.  Magie also showed it on her blog a couple weeks ago, but I think it deserves another spotlight in case you missed it, because the illustrations are so precious!

This is a fun book for our family, because my kids have all grown up in Florida, so haven't ever been around the snow.  It's fun to talk about how you build a snowman...

...or what a snow fort even is!  I actually hardly remember much of this myself, because I moved away from a snowy climate when I was young, and my husband grew up in California, so we're a pretty snow-deprived family!

I just adore the little snow clothes the children are wearing in this book.  That little purple number on the girl on the right- to die for!

And the blue plaid coat, and the boys' hats?  So cute!

 Good bye, Frosty!

I will be skipping next Friday's link party, with all the busy-ness of the holidays, but will be back on the 30th with more vintage story book fun!

Thanks for stopping by! If you'd like to join in, grab a button to the right and link up below!

  1. I have this version of Frosty and the illustrations are just so cozy. I didn't get my vintage story book linked today. Perhaps, I can still squeeze one in tomorrow. I stayed up until the wee hours of the morning finishing Josie's dollhouse so that I could do the big reveal on the blog today. I'm so glad to have this off the to-do list.

    Christmas hugs!
