More Vintage Birthday Goodness!

Hi Guys, I told you I would show you some of the other goodies I got for my birthday this year.  So I took time away from my Ebay surfing (I'm glued to Ebay lately looking at vintage dollhouse furniture/accessories!!) and shot some photos of my fun presents.

My sister gave me this sweet dolly (the one with the arrow pointing at her) after we saw her at an antique show together.  I mentioned that I was considering buying her, and my sister snuck away and bought her for me- it was such a fun surprise because I really didn't suspect a thing!

And actually, as long as we're on this photo, you haven't seen the little doll wardrobe with the puppies on it behind the dolls.  That was an early birthday present to myself- I snuck a few of those in- don't we all?

This large doll bed was from my mother, after I hinted about it with a link to the auction!

I wasn't sure where I could fit it in my already tight studio, until I had the brilliant idea to put it out in our family room to hold some of our vintage books!

It couldn't be a more perfect match right between these two little school desks and underneath the artwork!

Two more gifts that I hinted about to family members were the blue doll wardrobe and the yellow doll dresser above.  They are so, so happy and sweet!!  I adore them!

And finally, this embroidered piece also came from the same sister who surprised me with the doll above.  She did the same thing with this piece, and snuck away to buy it for me.  It appears to be an unfinished crib blanket.  Sorry I don't have a better photo for you, but it is in the process of being transformed into something new! I will show you as soon as it's finished!

Like I said in a previous post, the dollhouse I got for my birthday was such a wonderful present that I really didn't need anything else, so it was so fun to also get all of these wonderful goodies!  Every year, I email my family little hints of things I'd like (usually in the form of Ebay links!), but I think this is the first year anybody has actually bought anything from those lists!  Maybe this means they have finally stopped trying to find reason in the things I collect, and have just given in to my craziness!!

  1. This year for my birthday I want you to pick out my gifts....these are all things I would pick out and fight over ...just wait until Kim sees them. I saw a crib last week with a laminate top on it for an end table. Love your idea even better. But if you look back in the photo of the little yellow dresser you can see the reflection of all the toys...so cute. I cannot even tell you how much I am learning out of your book. Couple things I am going to work on tomorrow...smiles...Renee

  2. I'm completely envious and so very very happy for you. I'm completely smitten with the idea of using a crib to store books. Like I need another excuse to buy a doll bed. I love all your special treasures and would have been over the top with each and every one of them.

    Happy birthday, friend!

  4. What a lovely doll, she looks like she is a Ruth E Newton doll from the 40' thru the 60's....I am still trying to get one, does she have a squeaker in her back???? Very very cute! I think she is called a Baby bee....she should have some words at the back of her head. Happy Belated Birthday! Sandy
