Hi! I thought I'd give you all a tour of how I've decorated for Christmas. Nobody in my family really appreciates all the vintage goodness I've displayed, but I knew you all would!
This piece is on a wall you see as you first come in the front door. It's the perfect spot for most of my collections, since there are glass doors that can keep little hands off!
I made the vintage ornament wreath a couple years ago. The images displayed on either side are pages from a vintage Christmas book.
Inside the hutch are lots of little collections. I didn't take individual photos of them all this year, but the displays are similar to those that are shown here.
On top of my computer hutch is our first little tree. I just love it! I've put all my knee-hugger elves there, as well as a few other vintage Christmas characters.
The large Santa was a thrift find last year- he's a really nice one!
Here's our main tree. It's a pretty standard tree (fake) with all the kids' and family ornaments. In the background you can see a sneak peek of my Christmas dollhouse! But I'm going to save that for another post!!
In our bedroom, I put another small tree with lots of my vintage glass ornaments. This way, they're less likely to get broken.
The vintage tree skirt I got a couple years ago finally has a place to go! It's the perfect size!
Just some close-ups of some of the pretty ornaments!
Every single one of them was found thrifting!
This is our family room, where the fireplace and stockings reside.
My mother-in-law cross-stitched all the stockings. The Santa face painting over the fireplace came from a craft fair a few years ago.
My vintage Santa collection. My favorite is the tall guy in the middle!
Sitting up inside the wreath there is our "Elf on the Shelf". I used a vintage one I already had. The kids named him "Silly Pinnochio", and he watches over everyone from his perch!
Down the hall are the "vintage" stockings I made last year. You can see more info here.
I have many more glass balls than will fit on my tree, so the rest of them are scattered throughout in containers like this.
Squeal! Such fun eye candy. I'm so glad Renee introduced me to your blog. It's always a treat to find someone else who appreciates vintage goodies as much as I do. I'm completely smitten with your hutch filled with putz houses and reindeer. The vintage tree skirt is amazing and I adore the white tree filled with elves. The girls and I are going to finish pulling out decorations this weekend. It's time for some holiday cheer at our house.
ReplyDeletewoman! i am MOVING IN! your house is so fracking adorable i can't even take it!
ReplyDeleteI just simply adore all your lovely Christmas decorations, you house looks so festive!
ReplyDeleteYou have some really stunning vintage baubles and decorations..I am just envious! :)
The stockings you made, remind me of the one I had as a child (My Mother made it with felt and sequins).
I am looking forward to seeing the doll house...:)
Sorry I missed out on this Friday's vintage book..I just don't know where the days went this week. I will post one next Friday for sure :)
Have a lovely weekend..
wow, that is a serious vintage xmas collection, I'm jealous mine seems very meagre in comparison, I think I shall have to make vintage decorations a priority in my thrifting this year
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! I am lost for words. Oh how I wish I even had a tiny fraction of the goodies you have. AMAZING!
ReplyDeleteThat pile of santas and is delightful and I don't even know where to begin on the loveliness of all you other goodies.
Lovely! I can't even tell you my favorite because I love it all!
ReplyDeleteAnd can't wait to see the dollhouse. I thrifted a great one earlier this year for $4, but sadly didn't get to all the refurbishing it needs. Next year I am hoping to have it at the top of my list (maybe it will be an Easter dollhouse!)
LOVE everything! i especially love the entire tree dedicated to the elves! what a great idea! love the card holder and tree skirt too!!
ReplyDeleteCorey it all looks so magical. From the way you placed the Santas and hung the knee huggers I can't pick a favorite. You have done a beautiful job. Thank you for sharing...smiles...Renee
ReplyDeleteI have an small elf tree in my house too!! I like yours better actually...mine is shiny green and was pre-lit. I only have a small shot of it on my blog but you should check it out (its the last post I did so it should be easy to find). We have a lot of similar items in our collection--but I think you have WAY more then I do! I LOVE everything....the wreath, the putz houses, the tree skirt...those items all have me drooling! Oh and the stockings are awesome..you did a GREAT job!!
