Well, it's a month and a half since my birthday, but that's about how I roll these days! I did this piece of art for my forty-third birthday in May. Every year I try to do a piece- some years I'm able to do it on my birthday, and other years, it takes me a month and a half to finish it!!
But regardless, I'm happy with the way this turned out. You may remember the joint pieces I did with my kids a couple months ago. If you look back at them, you'll see that I was obviously inspired by those.
Is it wrong that I steal my five-year-old's imagery for my own artwork??!! Ha!
This summer has been a whirlwind, and we don't even have that much scheduled. But we've been able to fit in some fun activities amongst the chaos. I hope you're all having a great summer!

Corey,
I think it turned out great, what a neat tradition, to create a piece of art for each birthday!

Sugar, spice and whatever's nice
I think it's perfectly fantastic that you are using your five-year-old's imagery for your own artwork! Happy belated birthday by the way!
It's a lovely piece!
