Last week, the kids were supposed to dress in a different theme each day for preschool. Believe me, I was scrambling to come up with something on several of those days- I know it's fun for the kids, but not so much for the parents, ya know?
Anyway, one of the days was 80's day. It seems like it would be easy, but really, who has legwarmers or neon or Madonna-style clothing for their toddlers? And I didn't want to go buy something for just one day.
So this is what we came up with. Since punk kids used to put safety pins all over their clothes, I went that route with Noah and wrote "80's" with safety pins. I also spiked up his hair a bit. At the last minute I remembered how we used to wear two colors of socks together, so I did that for him as well. My husband says that only girls did that, but oh well!
And for Avery, I went the easy route and dressed her the way a little girl would have been dressed in the 80's. I could definitely handle that! You've seen this dress on her before in this post.
The kids certainly didn't win any awards for best costume, but at least they looked cute!
And speaking of cute, how sweet is this photo? These two are just such a pair. Sometimes I feel sorry for my older son because of the bond the younger two have. But it doesn't seem to bother him- I think he's just happy not to be bothered with his two-year-old sister!
I'm linking up here this week...
