I finally had a chance to do a piece of collage art today, now that I'm done making all the frames, etc. for the craft sale. It's another spread in Riley's book. This one is about him being five months old, and has reference to him rolling over and growing two teeth. I used some of the wallpapers I bought from Pam at Artfest, and some fabric that Linda sent me!
The verdict is yet to be out on this one. It took me FOREVER to get it to this point, and I just can't decide if I like it... I haven't been crazy about the past few pieces I've done- I think I'm in a bit of a mild slump- I don't hate the things I'm doing, but they aren't my favorites either. If you don't know me personally, you may not know that I'm a HUGE perfectionist. I always feel like I'm only as good as the last piece of art I've done, so if every piece I do isn't my newest "favorite", then I start to get anxious.
I've been intending to start a new art journal. Lately, the only collages I've been working on are ones in Riley's Books. I think I need to create a new book that isn't about Riley, but more about myself. Not that I don't love doing art with my cutie-pie as the focus, but I'm starting to miss some of my other imagery- little girls, etc.- things that don't work in his books. Maybe that will be the kick-start I need to get out of this minor slump I seem to be in.

It's always tricky to change mediums, paper to fabric, but I think you have done a great job. This piece has more color than many of your other pieces, but it still speaks of 'Corey'... When I hit those 'low' uncreative points, (which is more often than you think!) I find that just working through them is best. You are doing great!
so lovely Corey :)
