Well hello! I know I haven't been visiting my blog as frequently since the kids are out for summer vacation. Trying to keep up with three kiddos and their summer camps, bible schools, etc. is definitely a full-time job. But I do have to admit that the kids running around isn't the only reason for my absence...
Ever since acquiring my big dollhouse, I have sort of become OBSESSED! I have spent countless hours online, learning about vintage dollhouses and furniture and dolls. It's funny, even though I have other dollhouses, I really haven't ever spent much time furnishing them and working on them- I looked at them more as decoration, I guess. But with this dollhouse, I've really gotten interested in refurbishing and decorating it. I see an even more pronounced collection brewing. I am in love with the dollhouses and furnishings like those on this blog, and boy, does she have a serious collection of them! I know I'd have to do some real sweetening up to my husband in order to even come close to that though!!
But anyway, onto the point of this post. I've decorated the nursery and added some little dollhouse children to the residence.
Above is the way the nursery looked when I received the house (the changing table and matching white beds were already mine).
And here's how it looks now! I found the two Strombecker pink beds that matched the existing one on Ebay, and found the little twin girls on Etsy. I am really in love with the little girls- so, so cute!! I already had the baby and the little boy.
Aren't those girls sweet?
I also wallpapered (it's actually scrapbook paper), painted, and added artwork to the walls, as well as some little vintage flashcards for the kids to practice with!
Their own little play table in the nursery!
I do have to say that I'm a little bummed that I'm already done with the nursery, since it's the most fun, and fits my style the most. I wish every room could be a nursery- how I'd love to decorate a house like that! So I hope that I have just as much fun working on the other rooms. And if not, then I guess I'll just have to get another dollhouse with another nursery to decorate!!

Oh, Corey I am in love! The wallpaper, and frames are just the sweetest! The girls are so cute, and the pink beds are so lovely! Thanks for the inspiration and peek inside your adorable dollhouse! Have fun! xo Heather
Careful, Corey! It's a slippery slope. Your nursery is so sweet. And I love the twins! Baby too.
Corey...I am moving in...I kid you not this is so cute. From the prints on the wall to the abc's...love...love...love...and all in the "Corey colors" too. Decals on the bed and the faces on the dolls. Please don't stop there. Go right ahead and decorate the next room the same way. Enjoy your little ones. It is a zoo around here as well. Smiles...Renee
Just charming years ago I had a dollhouse and so many miniatures now that I have grand-peeps I might just have to re-kindle that hobby. Hugs, Diane
Looks gorgeous, I especially like the wee boy doll. Maybe you should get a job styling nurseries, avery's room is amazing.
The nursery would be my favorite as well....I love what you did to it....very sweet. Have fun working on the rest...blessings
Sigh...the nursery is absolutely darling. Seriously. We need to go dollhouse shopping sometime. I can't wait to see more of your adorable dollhouse.
Hi Corey....you've done an absolutely amazing job - what a talent. Well done and love the pictures.
Kind regards
Brian
Please, oh please, can you tell me the brand or where you found the changing table and crib? I am in love with them. And do you know what scale they are? This has to be the most adorable nursery I've ever seen!
Hi Joyce! I hope you get this comment- I didn't see your email address to email you directly...
Anyway, aren't those nursery pieces for the dollhouse just adorable? Unfortunately, I don't have a good answer for you about where to get them. The changing table was an Etsy find, I think. There are some more photos of it in this post if you're interested: http://coreymoortgat.blogspot.com/2012/04/dollhouse-nursery.html
And the crib was from Ebay. I've actually got a couple of these cribs (I love them!!). They pop up from time to time on Ebay, but they don't have a brand name or anything to search on, unfortunately. But you could probably get a similar look by putting a rose decal on a plain crib until you can find one!
Hope that all gives you some ideas- sorry I don't have any more solid info for you!
Thank you so very much. We are going to try to replicate the changing table. And I'll keep an eye out for one on etsy too! Plus the crib on ebay. Thanks again for the quick answer!
Joyce
